Canon O'Saurus is a Mental Health Endorsed Occupational Therapist and founder of Skyridge Occupational Therapy, based in Fryerstown, Central Victoria.Over more than a decade, Canon has worked across youth mental health, forensic mental health, community health and aged care including early intervention and complex casework. Comprehensive mental health assessment within Corrections Victoria, and mental health promotion for LGBTIQ+ young people in rural and regional communities. Since 2023, Canon has operated an independent practice maintaining a small caseload of clients with complex mental health presentations, alongside consultative and systems focused work.Canon's practice specialises in complex trauma, with a focus on how long standing stress, stigma and marginalisation shape daily function, relationships and participation. The work aims to reduce barriers to access and to support people particularly those from marginalised communities to strengthen their own capacity, on their own terms.

Accredited Mental Health First Aid TrainingSkyridge Occupational Therapy provides Mental Health First Aid training through Mental Health First Aid Australia.Mental Health First Aid training helps participants recognise when someone may be experiencing a mental health problem, offer initial support, listen without judgement, and guide the person toward appropriate professional help.This training is suitable for workplaces, community organisations and teams who want to build practical confidence in responding to mental health concerns. It is not therapy or crisis treatment. It is a structured, evidence informed training program designed to improve mental health literacy, reduce stigma and strengthen early support.Participants who complete the course will be eligible to complete the Mental Health First Aid assessment and become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider.
NDIS OTSkyridge is primarily a mental health focused service. Psychosocial disability referrals are our core work, and ongoing therapeutic support is available for mental health clients. Limited scope assessments outside mental health are accepted by agreement.Services:- Functional Capacity Assessments (psychosocial, change of circumstances, or while awaiting an ongoing provider)

Residential Aged Care ReviewsConcerned about a loved one's equipment, seating, transfers or daily care setup in residential aged care? You don't need to know exactly what's wrong before asking for help.An independent OT review clarifies whether equipment, transfers, positioning, mobility and pressure care are meeting your loved one's needs. Provided as part of the assessment is a facility visit, review of equipment and care setup, written recommendations, and liaison with the home with consent. Families gain clear written recommendations and confidence that comfort, hygiene, dignity and safety are being addressed.Standard block: $1,050 — 5 hours, incl. travel within Mt Alexander Shire; extra time $210/hr.
